Yantai Kapuro TU 20 Underground Articulated Dump Truck Successfully Loaded for Shipment

Time : 2026-07-30

YANTAI, China – July 24, 2026 – Yantai Kapuro Electromechanical Equipment Co., Ltd. (“Kapuro”) today announced the successful loading and shipment of its TU20 underground articulated dump truck from Yantai Port. The units have been dispatched to an overseas customer, marking a significant milestone in Kapuro’s ongoing expansion into international mining equipment markets and reinforcing the reputation of “Yantaimade” machinery in the global mining industry.

TU20 – A PurposeBuilt Hauler for Underground Mines

The TU20 is Kapuro’s independently developed 20tonne class articulated dump truck, engineered specifically for the harsh and confined conditions of underground mining. Powered by a diesel engine, the vehicle features fourwheel drive, a reartipping body, and a central articulated frame. With a large steering angle and a tight turning radius, the TU20 excels in narrow drifts: it can operate effectively in tunnels no smaller than 4 m × 4 m, achieves an outside turning radius of less than 9 metres, and can climb grades of up to 14°. These performance parameters make it exceptionally agile and productive in the confined, uneven roadways typical of underground operations.

The truck’s 20tonne payload capacity is ideally suited for medium to largescale underground mines, providing efficient ore and waste haulage. The central articulation joint includes an oscillating hitch that allows the front and rear frames to move independently, smoothing out rough terrain and enhancing stability and traction. The hydraulic hoist system is thoughtfully positioned – lift cylinders are placed outside the tyres and below the dump body – ensuring clean tipping, easy maintenance, and straightforward access for routine service. In every aspect, the TU20 combines high load capacity, excellent manoeuvrability, and simplified maintenance, offering mine operators a reliable tool to cut cost per tonne and boost overall productivity.

Loading Operations – Precision from Workshop to Vessel

At the Yantai Port loading site, multiple TU20 units were lined up in orderly fashion, then lifted one by one by heavyduty slings and precisely placed into the holds of an oceangoing cargo vessel. From final factory commissioning to overland transport to the port, from liftplan design to vessel stowage optimisation, the Kapuro team worked closely with port logistics specialists to ensure every machine was properly secured and protected throughout the process. The smooth and efficient loading operation not only demonstrates Kapuro’s mature experience in exporting heavy equipment but also highlights Yantai Port’s robust infrastructure and service capability as a key gateway for machinery exports.

Kapuro – Based in Yantai, Serving Mining Worldwide

Yantai Kapuro Electromechanical Equipment Co., Ltd., headquartered in Yantai, Shandong Province, is a hightech enterprise dedicated to the R&D, manufacturing, and sales of underground mining trackless equipment. Its product portfolio includes underground dump trucks, LHDs (loadhauldump units), and multipurpose service vehicles, serving both metal and nonmetal mining operations worldwide.

The company has accelerated its internationalisation strategy in recent years. In March 2026, the Kapuro DT25 multiservice vehicle was delivered to a mediumsized copper mine in Peru, where site operators praised its “ample power, responsive steering, and smooth passing in crosscuts.” In May 2026, 25 units of the Kapuro DT25 minidump truck, along with 150 spare tyres, arrived in Burkina Faso, successfully addressing both surface and underground haulage needs. The current TU20 shipment adds another solid proof of Kapuro’s growing footprint in overseas mining markets.

Market Outlook – Rising Demand for Underground Haulage Solutions

According to industry research firm QYResearch, the global underground mining truck market generated US$937 million in 2025 and is projected to reach US$1.493 billion by 2032, at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 7.35%. Separate data from Global Info Research estimates that global underground mining truck revenues stood at approximately US$1.093 billion in 2024 and are expected to climb to US$1.779 billion by 2031. As underground mining goes deeper and safety and environmental standards become more rigorous, the need for efficient, durable, and increasingly intelligent haulage equipment continues to grow.

Kapuro’s TU20 is a timely response to this market trend. With its 20tonne capacity, superior driftadaptability, and rugged build quality, the TU20 is positioned to become a trusted partner for mines aiming to increase tonnage throughput while lowering haulage costs per tonnekilometre.

Commitment to Quality and Innovation

“Every TU20 undergoes rigorous factory testing, including fullload hillclimb trials and brake performance checks, before it leaves our workshop,” said a Kapuro spokesperson. “Our loading and shipping procedures are equally meticulous, because we know that our customers depend on these machines to keep their operations running around the clock. This shipment reflects our unwavering commitment to quality, ontime delivery, and aftersales support.”

Kapuro’s engineering team continuously refines the TU20’s design based on realworld field data, with ongoing improvements in fuel efficiency, operator comfort, and serviceability. The company also offers a comprehensive spare parts package and remote technical support to ensure rapid response to customer needs, no matter where the machines are deployed.

Looking Ahead

Kapuro intends to further increase R&D investment in underground trackless equipment, broaden its product line, and integrate more smart monitoring and telematics features into future models. At the same time, the company will expand its overseas sales and service networks, establishing regional warehouses and authorised service centres to provide faster parts availability and onsite maintenance.

“From our home base in Yantai, we are determined to become a globally recognised brand in underground mining transport,” the spokesperson added. “The TU20 is a strong step in that direction, and we are already working on nextgeneration electrified and hybrid solutions to meet the industry’s sustainability goals.”

As the cargo vessel departs Yantai Port, the TU20 units begin their journey across the ocean to take their place in underground mines around the world. Kapuro continues to move forward – with robust products, a dedicated team, and an unwavering vision of serving the global mining community.
